FASHION DESIGN & TREND RESEARCH

Fashion design and development is a collaborative and unique process for each brand and business owner. The concept is the most important part of the design process, and it is the point from where the ideas are going to start and the basic shape of the design would be conceptualised.

  • The most common inclusions for our fashion design services are:

    • Trend research using a well-known industry-lead trend platform

    • Assistance with colour, fabric, and trim refinement and selection to keep within budget and MOQ

    • Brand alignment with Fashion Design, Fashion Branding, and Range Planning

    • Technical CAD Drawings on a fashion figure to ensure construction is feasible and commercial

    • X2-3 Design Consultations to review and discuss the range with a senior designer

    • Assistance with selecting block reference samples for tech pack preparation

  • Each customer’s brief, concept, selections, and brand direction are vastly different therefore fashion design work is charged at an hourly rate or on our retainer service with a quotation provided upon submission of your brief.

SOURCING & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

From assisting with sourcing your ideal fabrics, suppliers, or trims to commenting on labdips and print strike-offs, reviewing bulk fabrics, or guiding you through your first sample fitting, our team knows product development.

  • For sourcing and product development assistance, we work with an hourly rate or our retainers that are customised to suit your business needs, size, the number of styles and the support required.

    We have multiple options available including customised monthly options, to suit any fashion business new, scaling, or established.

  • Our Tech-pack fees depend on the design complexity, collection size, and what information is being supplied to us to successfully prepare your documents to a high-quality and professional standard. The cost per design for a Tech-pack can vary on the brief supplied and if you would prefer our 2D or 3D service.

    Our custom Technical Pack options are:

    • Generally, for a flat 2D Tech-pack our custom tech packs start at AU$ 350+gst for a basic design, however, can be up to AU$ 590+gst for a time-consuming or complex design.

    • For a 3D Tech-pack our custom tech packs start at AU$ 750+gst for a basic design, however, can be up to AU$ 1,300+gst for a time-consuming or more complex design. The 3D Tech-pack includes fitting your design on a 3D figure model and the confirmed DXF pattern ready to supply to your supplier.

    If you are unsure which tech-pack fee or service is most suitable for your project we always suggest getting in touch with us to discuss the specifics of your project as custom bundles or an hourly rate can be more suitable for your designs depending on the scope of work, frequency, and type of tech-pack chosen (2D or 3D). We provide NDAs for signature to ensure your concepts are protected when sharing your initial ideas with our team.

TECHNICAL DRAWING

A technical sketch, which can also be referred to as a CAD, Fashion Flat, or Technical Flat, is a detailed and accurate representation of your garment. Although we also include CADs in our Fashion Design and Technical Pack services, some customers prefer to flesh out some new concepts more clearly before the initial deep dive into fashion design and into tech-packs.

  • Our CAD drawing options are:

    • Option 1 / Black and White CAD AU $115.00+gst per style

    • Option 2 / Rendered (Colour) CAD AU $135.00+gst per style

    • Option 3 / Points to Measure CAD AU $150.00+gst per style

    • 1/2/3 The Complete Bundle AU $225.00+gst per style

TEXTILE PRINT DESIGN & GRAPHIC WORK

  • Custom textile print design fees are dependent on the client’s supplied brief.

    • A basic motif repeat, such as a spot can start from AU $390+gst

    • A more advanced design that requires custom hand-drawn motifs and requires multiple mediums/brushes can start from AU $690+gst to AU $1300 AU depending on the number of colour-ways required.

    If you work with us during the Fashion Design stage, we guide you in the most suitable print design service, such as custom textile print design or purchasing from a ready-made textile library to suit your collection, budget, and style.

    Our Textile Print Design & Graphic Design options are:

    • Custom Motif Print Design from AU $390+gst
    • Custom Multi-Media Print Design from AU $650+gst
    • Research & assistance on the most suitable ready-made textile print designs from AU $150 per hour
    • Placement Print design and scaling assistance from AU $150 per hour

FASHION LABELING & PACKAGING FILES

Your brand identity is the most critical aspect of your business. This includes your fashion branding such as labeling, hang tags, and product packaging. It’s more than just a logo or your products — it is who you are and what your brand represents. We’ll help your brand get recognised by making a coherent brand identity using your brand guidelines that will not only look aesthetically pleasing but will also reflect your brand's story and values from logo, labeling, packaging, and product.

  • The inclusions in the package will depend on its specifications, but they generally include labeling, tags, and packaging assets.

  • Our Fashion Labeling & Packaging options are:

    • The Essentials Bundle includes a Hang tag, Main Labeling, and Care Label from AU $440+gst

    • The All-In Bundle includes a Hang tag, Main Labeling, Care Label, Custom Poly bag or Tote bag Design from AU $490+gst to AU $590+gst depending on complexity.

    If our bundles are not suitable, we can provide a quotation that includes building a package to your projects specific requirements.

    We also offer custom design services for Tote bags, Business Cards, Thank you cards, and packaging inserts as requested with quotations provided upon submission of your project brief.

LINE SHEET & LOOK BOOK DESIGN

Line Sheets and lookbooks are excellent sales tools for presenting your new designs to buyers, influencers, agents, or collaborators. From the perspective of agents or buyers, line sheets, along with the brand vision and product quality, can determine their interest in purchasing or representing your product. At Spec to Sample, we have completed over 20+ seasons for one of our customers, providing us with extensive experience in designing, collating, and professionally presenting line sheets to help you seize any opportunity.

  • Line sheets are usually based on the scope of work, and the number of styles/pages required and are charged as a fixed package with a limited number of inclusions or hourly at AU $150+gst.

1-ON-1 CONSULTING & STRATEGY SESSIONS

Starting, scaling, or running a fashion brand can be lonely and overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. We offer 1-on-1 consulting for fashion brands that need guidance in understanding the process or simply how to improve efficiency within their business or with their supply chain.

  • From AU$150+gst per hour, you can have your questions answered and feel more confident to move forward with your business journey.

IMAGERY, PHOTOSHOOT & STYLING ASSISTANCE

You need great photos to make an impact online. Our team will work with you to make sure the presentation of your products are picture-perfect.

  • Whether it's for your website or your latest creative campaign, our team will help you bring it all together by conceptualising and directing your shoots, arranging the photographer and model castings, and ensuring that the styling and attention to detail in the imagery meet high standards of work.

    We can also organize behind-the-scenes (BTS) shoots, content shoots, flat-lay photography, and ghosted product imagery for your brand, ensuring a professional online presence.

  • • Curation of the Mood, Model Imagery, and Content is charged hourly at AU $150+gst

    • Styling off-site for a 1/2 day shoot is from AU $720+gst depending on a senior or junior stylist attending

    • Flat-lay and ghosting imagery is from AU $40 per image including deep etching

    • Re-touching and product colour amendments are quoted based on the client’s requirements, number of images, and type of imagery being supplied (RAW, high res or low res)
